Glycomet-500 SR Tablet used to treat type 2 diabetes when diet and exercise alone have not been enough to control the blood glucose levels. Type 2 diabetes is a chronic condition that affects how the body processes glucose.

What if I have taken an overdose of Glycomet-500 SR Tablet

Do not take more than the prescribed dose of Glycomet-500 SR Tablet as it may cause overdose leading to lactic acidosis (too much lactic acid in the body). The symptoms include stomach pain with muscle cramps, vomiting, reduced body temperature, difficulty in breathing, and a general feeling of not being well with severe tiredness. If you suspect you have taken an overdose or notice signs of overdose, please consult a doctor immediately, as lactic acidosis may lead to coma.
Drug Warnings

Do not take Glycomet-500 SR Tablet if you are allergic to any of its components or if you have severe kidney disease, diabetic ketoacidosis, or metabolic acidosis.
Inform your doctor if you have dehydration, infections, liver or kidney problems, uncontrolled diabetes, heart problems, or low levels of vitamin B12.
Consult your doctor if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant or are breastfeeding.
Seek medical attention if you experience symptoms of lactic acidosis (vomiting, abdominal pain, muscle cramps, severe tiredness, difficulty breathing, and reduced body temperature and heartbeat) or dehydration (severe vomiting, diarrhoea, exposure to heat, fever or if you drink less fluid than normal).
